OUR HISTORY
2018 Season
We stuck on our “toe in the water” with two races with AER in 2018. Racing this time was with Lyle and Jason as drivers as well with a few other friends. We did quite a bit of testing and adjustments to get our car set up for endurance racing. We knew we were on to something when we placed in 3rd on Sunday in our second ever race with the car at AER Summit Point in Fall of 2018. After the 2018 season, the team made plans to do a couple of races in the 2019 season.
2019 Season
The 2019 AER season started with Road Atlanta which is an iconic track every racer has to experience so we started with that race. Our drivers Jason Marks, Nigel Faulkner, and Lyle Hitt had a successful outing at Road Atlanta with a 1st in class on one race day and 2nd overall in class for the weekend. Next race we did was Watkins Glen in April. Yet another iconic track that had to be experienced as well! We finished 1st in class one race and 2nd overall in class for the weekend at Watkins Glen. We went on to do AER NJMP which is a relatively local to our team based in NJ and we finished 2nd in class on Saturday and 3rd in class on Sunday and 3rd overall in class for the weekend. It was Jason, Lyle, and Rob Jackowitz for the NJMP race who subbed in for Nigel who had a conflict. We raced at AER Summit Point in September to place 1st in class both days and 1st overall in class for the weekend. Things started getting very interesting as we were generating some significant Team Championship Points and some driver championship points. At this point, we went from doing a couple of races with AER to making a run at the AER Championship.
The next race and probably the most memorable race of the season, due to a last minute cancellation, Lyle and Jason “Ironmanned” the race Saturday and Sunday at AER Mid-Ohio. We were the only two drivers and both drove 3 stints a day each and placed 1st in class Saturday, 1st in class Sunday, and 1st overall. The AER championship and Drivers Championship all came down to the last race of the season at a very cold AER Pitt Raceway race. We were fortunate enough for Team Random Vandals to have allow their driver, Paul Sparta, join us for the last race where we placed 3rd in class Saturday, 3rd in class Sunday, and 3rd overall. This was enough for us to win the American Endurance Racing Team Championship and for our driver Lyle Hitt to win the Drivers Championship and our driver Jason Marks to place 2nd in the Driver’s Championship.
2020 Season
For the 2020 season, although extremely proud of our 2019 American Endurance Racing Championship, we had decided not to attempt to defend our championship and instead elected to try to do a “track sampler” season where we pursued favorite tracks and new tracks in endurance racing. We also made the move to partner with Joe Mueller of Mueller Motorsports as our motorsports shop. The BMW expertise Mueller Motorsports brought to the equation was what attracted us to their operation. We ran the car in the AER series as well as gave the World Racing League (WRL) league a try with our inaugural season race at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in the GTO class. It was an unusual season with the onset of COVID 19 which led to a lot of race cancellations and schedule changes. However, Hittman Racing made the best of it.

2021 Season
After seeing and experiencing the level of competition at the WRL COTA race at the end of the 2020 season, the team decided to focus on this series for the 2021 season. For those of you who haven’t experienced WRL, the GTO class is stacked with a variety of GT4 and TCR cars and a few well built sports cars. Each race usually has a minimum of 30 cars in the GTO class with some races well over 40 cars in the GTO class. In addition, several of the teams are either current or former professional race teams and the other teams, if not officially professional, they are all professionally run.
